  9. 1) REQUIREMENTS

  11.       386/33 or greater IBM PC compatible
  12.       VGA graphics card
  13.       550K free base memory
  14.       4 Mb of free memory
  15.       Sound Card ( optional )

  18. 2) INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

  20.    Make a Directory on your hard drive for the HURL demo:
  21.        md hurl<enter>
  22.  
  23.    Change to the newly created directory:
  24.        cd hurl
  25.  
  26.    Copy the contents of the disk to this directory.  If you are copying
  27.    from a floppy disk, type:
  28.       copy <drive>:*.*
  29.  
  30.    Type HURLDEMO to extract all the files that are needed for HURL:
  31.       hurldemo<enter>
  32.  
  33.    Type Setsound to set up your sound card:
  34.       setsound<enter>
  35.  
  36.    You will be asked to select and test a sound card and music device.
  37.    After this your configuration has been saved to your C: drive for
  38.    future use by the game.

  40.    To run the game, type hurl.
  41.       hurl<enter>

  43. 3) TROUBLE SHOOTING

  45.    NOT ENOUGH MEMORY!
  46.    While you may have the 4Mb needed to run the game is it actually free?
  47.    Some programs like SMARTDRV.EXE can take 2Mb or more.  Remove it from
  48.    your CONFIG.SYS and reboot.

  50.    MS-DOS 6.0 contains MEMMAKER which can help you configure your system
  51.    better.

  53.    HEY, IT CRASHED!
  54.    Boot with a minimum configuration to free up as much memory as possible.
  55.    Your config file should look something like this:
  56.       FILES=20
  57.       BUFFERS=20
  58.       DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
  59.       DOS=HIGH
  60.  
  61.    THE SOUND DOESN'T WORK!
  62.    If you have a SoundBlaster compatible card, select the SoundBlaster
  63.    clone driver and try again.  Otherwise you can run H.U.R.L without
  64.    sound by starting it as follows:
